It signifies that these vehicles have passed maneuverability, articulation, traction, ground clearance and water-fording tests on the most challenging terrain. Plus, Jeep Brand off-road SUVs are just as good at handling bad weather conditions on paved roads as they are handling off-road conditions.

PERFORMANCE

If you regularly drive long distances, an SUV that prioritizes efficiency, like the Jeep® Compass, is for you. If you want to tow equipment like a boat or trailer, the Jeep Grand Cherokee can tow more than any other Jeep Brand SUV when properly equipped. SUV FAQ

While there’s no concrete definition, in general SUVs, or Sport Utility Vehicles, are rugged vehicles or light trucks that combine off-roading features and greater passenger capacity, depending on the size of the SUV. Their off-roading capabilities, including four-wheel drive and traction control, make them suitable not just for rocky off-road trails but for winter driving on snowy or icy roads.

Sitting higher on the road than standard passenger cars, SUVs offer excellent visibility and a sense of security when driving. They feature generous seating capacity and lots of room for cargo, with many including plenty of storage options throughout the cabin. Many SUVs boast excellent efficiency, along with impressive engine performance to help you tow boats, campers and more. Their off-road capabilities make them an excellent choice for anyone who has to brave harsh weather or poor road conditions, and their available safety, security and technology features help offer you peace of mind when driving.
